Chapter 80 : On the Move 8 1/2 months

On the move...
(pictures are getting blurry! 8 1/2 months)

Hadley crawls across the room and Layton rolls. They both get to point B, just in different ways. Play time has become very interesting.
Good bye "sit and play" babies! Hello "on the go" babies.

The girls are all over these days! It has been such a joy watching them grow over the last month.

Layton TALKS up a storm.
(to her hand, toy, Sophie, me, the wall) It's hilarious. Her head bobble is worthy of its own blog post.

Did I mention that Hadley has 2 teeth and has 3 more coming in? When she smiles, it's the cutest thing in the world.
(poor little teething baby)
Layton is getting her first tooth!

Welcome Summer. Babies in bathing suits have to be the cutest thing ever. period. Let the pool time begin!

Baby gates will be going up soon.

{8 Months Old}

Being your Momma is the most fun, exhausting, fast paced, amazing, challenging and rewarding thing I have ever done. I am

Sleeping: 7:30pm-7:00am
Napping: 3 times a day (30min-1hr)

You say, "da-da-da" all the time! It's super cute!
My sweet Laylay-you got your first runny nose this month! You were super sad about it. So was I.
You love to sit and play, yet, will roll over to your back and play, too!

You both:
-You are both curious and becoming more aware of your environment.
-The pincer grasp - using thumb and finger -- to pick up EVERYTHING. Hello mouth!
-You both love your routines: When you're in the crib it’s bedtime; when you sit in the high chair it’s mealtime.
-You also realize the relationship between cause and effect -- when I drop this toy, Mommy picks it up.
-You both copy cat one another. It is TO DIE FOR adorable! One coughs, the other coughs. One blows bubbles, the other blows bubbles. Hello adorableness. (I made that word up- it's fine!)
-You are GO with the FLOW children. We took your to a Memorial Day pool party for about 5 hours and you both did fab-u-lous! Not one whimper or tear. You just hung out! Mr. Rick is your newest bud. He had a great watch that you both enjoyed (licking and sucking on!) His newest grand baby will be here in July!
-You both love one another! It's precious!
-When we go to pick you up you both reach up with your arms..
OH-EM-GEEE
-You giggle and it's the cutest thing E-V-E-R

People ask about our schedule all of the time. I really think they are asking/wondering to themselves, "How in the heck does she do it?" Their questions are funny to me. As, yes it does seem hard. And yes, there are times that it is. But, I am a firm believer that if you keep consistency and schedule with babies.
Your life can and will run smoothly.

H & L:
I continue to be amazed with the joy that you each
bring to our lives.

You are both such little scheduled babies! Yes, this was our doing in the beginning only to help us with the sanity of raising two newborns, but you took to it like little champs and both love it. You are great at telling us when you are ready for nap time! It is normally about 2 hours after you eat. Your signs of sleepiness are typically rubbing of your eyes and yawns.  After your naps, I sit you both in one crib for sister play time. You both just stare at one another. If I place toys with you you'll both grab for the same one. It's cute!
Speaking of playing in your cribs... One of our little traditions over the past 2 months has been our morning play time! As you both wake up (talking to us through your monitor) I make my way to your nursery and start changing your diapers. You both just giggle and grin! I normally change Layton first and sit her up to play and then change Hadley. I sit the two of you together in one crib to play while I go get your bottles ready and my coffee made.  Yum.. for you and I! After breakfast, the three of us head to the office. (it's the only place with soft carpet to play on in our current home!)

Side note: Did I mention that you both hold your own bottles? It's heaven! BIG GIRLS!
Once we get to the office after breakfast, this is where we play for about a hour-hour 1/2. You both love playing with toys! You reach for toy after toy after toy. Anything that lights up is your favorite. From here you two take a nap. While you are taking your morning nap, I take a shower and clean the house for the day. I love it starting off nice and clean! Dishes- check! Laundry- check Vacuum- check! Our afternoon consists of jumping in your bouncers, walks around the neighborhood, errands with Mommy, and 2 more naps. (typically 12pm-1pm and then 3pm-4pm.)
schedule, schedule, schedule
{Eat, Play, Sleep}

Mommy and Daddy can't get enough of the two of you these days.
