Chapter 90: Loving on two!

H&L:

You are both little love bugs! I could just squeeze your little selves ALL day, everyday.
{which i do}
I know all babies love to be held. If I could, I would hold you each ALL day!!  Michael and I were talking and I decided that I don't want you to grow ANY more. He on the other hand, wants you to be big girls, who love to run around and play! (he can't wait to teach you how to throw a baseball!) You are both at the age where you don't like to lose sight of me. It's okay. I really don't like to be away from you either. Once I am out of the room... you both start to play and are J-UUU-ST fine. I think it helps having two of you! You see the other is there and are happy.
This allows Mommy to do the dishes or throw in a load of laundry. FYI: time to baby proof?? yes.. yes, we did! Our house now has a gate that leads up the stairs and plastic plugs in every light socket.

I remember the day you were born, feeling so drawn to you!
I wanted to be near you ALL the time. I always thought this might fade.
{it hasn't}
I am still absolutely obsessed with you two! Don't tell anyone... but, there are times that I can't wait for you to wake up, so I can snuggle your little necks!
I don't wake you... promise! Yet, when I do go upstairs to get you, you brighten my day with your giggles and smiles. GOSH- I smile about it as I type. You'll be waking any minute now from your morning nap.

All in all- I love this "crawl in my lap, pull my sleeve to stand up, snuggle stage!"
10 month olds.. do NOT leave. Stay, stay, stay, stay little!
I love you,
mommy

Chapter 89: Family Time in Austin

We visited Austin this weekend for family time with Michael's family. The Cahoon family came in town from California. They had not meet the twins, so traveling to Austin was a must while they were here visiting. Denise's sister Debbie and brother in law live in Lago Vista (near Austin!). Johnny and Debbie opened their lovely home and pool during the day and then off to Johnny, Stephanie's and Haven's beautiful home for the evening.  We had a great time visiting and swimming with everyone. Denise drove in and picked up Mammaw on her way. It was a quick yet fun trip!

 The girls LOVED the water.

Yup.. Layton got her Daddies eyes! BEAUTIFUL!

These tan babies DO wear sun screen. I promise! :) See...

On Friday, we are heading to the beach with my family!
More fun in sun with these sweet baby girls.
 Can't wait! :)

Teeth: 8 (wow! You grew 3 in one month!)
You are a crawler/climber/EVERYWHERE baby!

Hadley,
You are walking along the couch, fire place, and everything and anything that you can get your little hands on. You have great balance. You sway back and forth- we call it dancing! In the morning you are standing in your crib waiting for me to come and pick you up. The giggle is contagious!  You love your right pointer finger! You stick it everywhere. Your mouth, nose, and ear! You grew 3 teeth this month... so, I'm sure it feels good to chew on it.  You don't like cold fruit or slimy messy foods. You point and pick at it!  In the evenings, at exactly 7pm you are ready for bed! I love watching your explore and learn. Gosh- we love you so much. That grin of yours has captured our hearts. Bug, you make us so happy!

Bottles: 4 a day (7am, 10am, 1pm, (dropped the 4-dinner at 5), 7pm)

Clothing: 12 months

Sleeping: 7:30pm-7:00am
Napping: 2 times a day

Size 3 diapers

Teeth: 2 (still two!)
You are a clapper/bottom rotator/scooter

Layton,
You are in no hurry to do or go anywhere. You are the most content baby in the world, and have been since you were born.  You have no interest in crawling. BUT, you are able to get to what you want. You roll, scoot, swirl on your bottom, lean, and scoot some more! I have a feeling you will be taking off any day now. You are an amazing eater. Anything I give you, you will try.  I have yet to find a food that you do not like. After your bath, your hair curls on the top of your head. It's adorable!!! (do they make baby hair products?) You have such a sweet heart and giggle and laugh all day. You love to clap your little hands and play "copy cat" with your sister. If you cough, Hadley will. If you scream, so will Hadley. If you grunt... she's grunting along with you.  I think it's adorable! I do have to admit...Mommy is jealous. I'm jealous of your blue eyes and curls! I wish I had your laid pack personality, too. It's amazing... You make us so happy. We love you LayLay.

Chapter 87: Growing Up is Hard

Growin' up is hard!

I wish I had lived more wholly in the moments. I truly thought I had.. but, I look back and wish I could have squeeeeeezed a bit more into the time that passed- OH SO- quickly.

Let's talk baby food. This was when it HIT me, HARD! My littles are not little. They are eating three meals a day. THREE. And I don't like it one bit. NOT ONE! Most people would be excited about this change. Not me. I want my milk babies back. When they only had milk, they were little. Now, they have food. Consequently, they are big.
At least this is my justification in the matter.

I don't think this came around with my past birthday. It truly came when I was planning the girls meals for the week.

When you are little you always want to grow up. You can't wait to grow up.  But, as a Mom, I want the time to freeze. I say every month is blast and my favorite. But, 10 months.. OH EM GEE!
 It's amazing.

Darn the days of baby food making...
I wish I could have back my "milk only" babies.

This is How Children Grow:

When you see a smiling face
Their happiness all over the place
Singing, laughing, cries of glee,
Come they say, Play with me
The slide, the swing, the monkey bars.
Look at them close to see who they are.
Lots of races, Ready, Set, Go.
This is how the children grow.

If you watch them everyday
You'll see they learn as they play
They'll do what they see,
 and say what they hear.
You're their teacher though out the years.
Their ideas and thoughts in their eyes shine.
Imagination is a glimpse of their mind
When you’re not looking, don't you know
This is when the children grow.

Watch them as they learn to walk
Listen to them when they talk
Keep them safe, away from harm
Wrap them gently within your arms
Teach them to share and how to take turns.
Set good examples from which they will learn.
At home, at school, wherever they go
This is where the children grow.

Chapter 86: Best Gifts

Hadley and Layton,

Today is Mommy's birthday, August 15th!
My birthday this year means more to me than any other birthday before! We've always said that God gave us the best gifts, EVER! I am so thankful for the two best birthday presents, you!

October 10th is truly the best birthday in my book.
Today Mommy is 365 days closer to the big 3-0!

Chapter 85: Moving on...

20 trips of moving boxes
65 boxes of stuff
3 broken fingernails
6 baggies of nails and nobs
2 furry animals
1 "oops, I TOLD you to carry that carefully."
8 dinning room chairs
6 kitchen chairs
Many random items that need to be trashed
3 large boxes of shoes
2 baby bouncers
2 high chairs
5 million baby toys
4 couches
4 TV's
1 LARGE moving truck
2 precious baby girls
1 new address
We ran out of space, so we moved into a new place.

Nope. This isn't our pool!
We sure wish is was! This was at Gram and Grumps pool near the July 4th Holiday.

Chapter 84: What do you see?

Two to wash, two to dry,
two who sleep, two who cry.
Two to kiss and two to hug,
best of all there are two to love.

Always look to one another.

Always look to Mom and Dad.

Always look to Christ!
You are blessed to be raised in a family where God is placed first.

For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord.
They are plans for good and not disaster; to give you a future and a hope. Jeremiah 29:11

I'm a little late posting these pictures! Our 10 month post will be a few days late. :)
Momma's been a little busy.
