Back Yard Babies

We love our backyard!! After a little work and the fun of adding the pergola, fans, flowers and new furniture, we LIVE outside! Each night when Michael gets home, out we go! We have added a bunch of fun toys for the girls and recently a play pool to plash in! Michael finished building an extension to our porch this past weekend and the added deck is perfect for the grill!

July 4th, 2014

Our day started with a neighborhood parade! Well, technically the girls were in the parade. We walked half of the parade with the girls in tow in their wagon. About half way through we hooked a U turn and headed home for a quick nap before pool time!  When the girls woke up, we headed to the beach club. We meet our friends, Erika, Justin and their twins at the pool. After splashin', eatin', &  sliddin' we headed home for afternoon naps (Momma included). Then, off to a BBQ! The Lee's hosted, we ate, enjoyed fellowship, and the twins played and stayed up way PAST their bedtime. Fireworks and friends made for a perfect 4th. Tonight, Momma and Daddy are heading to dinner while the littles stay home. 

Beach club games. Every 30 minutes there were different activities for the kids/families. Hoola hoop contests, water balloon toss, sand castle building contests and awesome music!

Tennison's take on the Beach 2014!

I've been a little MIA over here in blog world these past few weeks! Sorry friends! We have been one busy family. As you can tell from the picture above, the Tennison family traveled to the beach! We had so much fun with the twins. They had a great time building in the sand, watching and running after the birds, and splashing in the water on the deck. What a great trip!! 

 H&L did wonderful on the ten hour car ride down and back. We were very impressed! 

(leaving in the middle of the night was such a great idea!) 

Each day we woke up and enjoyed coffee and breakfast on the porch. We threw on our swimming suits and headed down to the beach. Lunch was typically made and brought down to the beach by someone who was up at the house. Each family cooked one night so dinners were home made and delicious! We also went to lunch and dinner out a few times while we were there. LuLu's was a hit, once again! I love the large area with sand and toys for the kids and the live band.  The evening before the last day, Mel & Sean, Casey & Lynley, and Michael & I went out on the town! First stop, Putt Putt. Lynley won! We then went to Florabama for a live band and a few drinks! We had such a fun time with family.

Our New Adventure 

Growing up as a little girl, I would play with my baby dolls and one day dream of being a Mommy . I knew that the perfect Daddy to my children would come into my life to help make that happen.

In His timing, God blessed me with my sweet husband, Michael! We had enjoyed living as a married couple and knew children would one day come to make us a (larger) family!  Five years later, God blessed us with Layton and Hadley. My own, very real, baby dolls were finally here!

Michael and I talked about how wonderful it would be if I could stay home with our sweet little ones. Teaching for six years and then having the opportunity to teach part time for two has been wonderful, but the ability to stay home full time with H&L would be a dream! 

Eight months ago an opportunity popped into my life. With lots of prayer, Michael and I decided that I should become a Independent Consultant for Rodan & Fields Dermatologists! So, in my PJ's-- during nap time, or once the girls went to bed, I worked my R+F business! This business is one that does not require me to host parties or stock innovatory. Even with my GO, GO, and GO life style, it allowed me to enjoy my girls and still work at Sonntag Elementary school part-time.  

Where are we today? Well, as I type with tears in my eyes, the time has come! As of Tuesday, I was given another blessing! Rodan and Fields Dermatologist has provided for our family in a way that it will allow me the opportunity to live out my next dream job, a stay at home Momma.

Thank you lord for this blessing that you have placed in my life. This road has been a curvy one with hills along the way, but in the end you hear our prayers, wishes and needs. 

A prayer, a wish, and a need. Thank you Lord for this answered prayer! Thank you Rodan + Fields Dermatologists for allowing me to be with my little dolls! I'll miss teaching, but this is the opportunity of a lifetime. One I never would have dreamed would happen in a short eight months! 

Thank you, Michael, for believing and pushing me to step out of my comfort zone. Your support has meant the world to me!
