Twin Talk Link Up- Happy Twin Month!!

Today, I'm linking up with Twin Talk Blog for a post about our twins for Multiple Birth Awareness month.
If you're popping by from the blog/instagram link up, let me introduce you to my girls: Layton Aaron and Hadley McKee! Welcome, we’re glad you stopped by to read little bit about our family!

{Meet Layton and Hadley! Born October 10, 2012. They are 18 months old.}

H&L,
April is Multiple Birth Awareness Month… that’s you! I just wanted to stop for one moment, while you nap, on this busy morning of vacuuming, cleaning, and decorating (Mommy is hosting a baby shower tomorrow morning at our home), to talk and love on YOU!

Your Momma and Daddy waited, dreamed, hoped, and prayed for the day that we would go from Michael and Ann Marie to Daddy and Mommy. “Momma” and “Da-da” are now the most precious words we have the pleasure of hearing daily. The day we found out we were having twins, YOU, our worlds changed. Words were speechless, tears were falling, smiles were beaming, and many hugs and kisses were given. We are lucky to have you! You have now grown into little toddlers. Your personalities are beaming and you are so much fun! I love watching you play with your sister. We continue to thank God for blessing us with two babies.

Happy TWINS month, baby girls!

Love, Momma

Twin-dition (tradition!)

I am a tradition type of girl!
I blame this on my Mom. Thanks, Mom.
{I don't really blame you! }
She always did such a wonderful job of making holidays and events so very special. She still does.
I can wait to instill this in Hadley and Layton's little lives.

 When the girls were 6 months old, my twin friend momma's started one of many traditions.
{we all meet and bonded over big ol' preggo bellies! Now, we are inseperable!}

"Take us out to the ball game..."

Caroline's husband, Scott, works for the Frisco Rough Riders. Therefore, we reap the wonderful benefit of a fabulous home base suite.
It. is. amazing.
We had such a wonderful time last year, that we decided that we should make it a tradition. Here we our a year later, batters up!

and now...

We tried out best- this was the best shot! Caroline's littles were missing from the pictures because they were sick. :( Pretend that they are on the far left.

I definitely hit a Home Run with these girls! (no pun intended)
Group Picture! So glad we were able to get one with Caroline, Bennett and Clara.

We can't wait for next weekend for the girls to enjoy picking up the Easter eggs.

 All of my friends are amazing! AHH-mazing. I love them ALL! Single friends, married friends, Mommy friends, ALL of them are wonderful.
God has blessed me with the most wonderful friendships to enjoy this life.

One of my friends is amazingly (is that a word) crafty. Caroline, makes the most wonderful gifts for your home or for friends and family. You must check her out!

Easter's on its way!

The girls enjoyed their first Easter Egg hunt!
Yet, this play area at the church of the hunt was WAY more fun than picking up eggs.

We are enjoying this time with H&L.

Tid Bits for Travels

Tid bits for trip traveling with children:

{Pack Early}
I started packing for the twins a week in advance. I laid out their outfits and assesories (socks, shoes, bows) for each day along with PJ's for each night. Just having their clothes planned for the trip takes a off huge stress relief!

{Plan Meals}
Although, I knew we were going to be eating out and on the run... plan for moments when you are at a location with "adult" type of foods only! This came in handy many moments! In my trunk, I packed a small box of on the go items for the girls. Mac-n-cheese, fruit cups, squeezie packets of veggies, crackers, goldfish and a few other items! These all came in handy at one moment or another. Crawfish, frog legs and spicy corn/potatoes, were too hard on our little's tummies.

{Snacks Up Front}
On a 7/8 hour car ride, there will be times when snacks are needed to keep little ones happy. On the floor board of the passenger side, I kept a gallon bag full of easy to eat *and hand back, snacks for the girls. Sippy cups were also up front for me to pass back.

{Entertainment for a LONG Drive}
A DVD player attached to the back of our cars headrest was a life saver. I got creative and tied, with ribbon, the DVD player to the middle seat of their carseats. When the girls woke from their naps, we would put on a Mickey Mouse or Baby Einstein video for them to watch.

{Plastic Sacks/bags}
There were many moments when we needed a plastic sack to throw trash in! {Dirty diapers on a car ride was ONE of those moments!} Wiping down faces after a lunch out and snack trash from eating on the go. Keeping our car some-what clean was much easier with these trash bags. Tip:  Keep a few in your glove compartment.

{Sleep Zzz}
Bring your sound machine! We played white noise/lullabies through the speakers of our car for nap times when we were on the go. The twins slept best with these familiar sounds. If they like to snuggle with a stuffed animal or small blanket, bring that too!

Traveling with little ones can make your trip a little bit more stressful, yet, the more prepared and organized you are, the MORE fun you will have!

 With a little extra planning, your trip will be a smooth one!

Happy travels!
