Chapter 26: Twin Talk

How Far Along: We made it to the 34 week mark!

Size of Babies: Baby A is 3lbs 14oz and Baby B is 4lb 9oz!

What You’re Doing this week: I started out the week by taking Christmas photos for the Este's Family. They wanted to get them in early as Hadley and Layton will be arriving soon. :) After church on Sunday, Michael worked in the yard and organized/threw away MANY boxes from the garage. As he has unpacked gifts from the girls baby showers we have accumulated/our garage has been overtaken with many boxes. This week I am taking it easy. :) I am going with a few friends to get a pedicure tomorrow afternoon and then to my women's bible study tomorrow night.  The rest of the week I'll be hanging out at home with Sophie and Hondo on the couch. They love having their Momma home. I may venture out in search for a lamp for the girls nursery on Wednesday or Thursday. Today, we went to our 34 week check up with our twin doctor.  It went great. I will go back on Friday to see my Ob/Gyn!

Cravings: Nothing particular!

Sleep: I am sleeping as much as possible :)

New News:  The girls nursery is done.  This was such a great feeling as I know with twins, they can (and will) come early!  The house is also baby ready and my to-do list is dwindling down.  I am looking forward to having the house deep cleaned in the next week or two.

Names: Layton Aaron and Hadley McKee

Fetal Movement: Lots of movement, which is good. I felt their first round of hiccups this weekend. Saturday night we went to Top Golf with friends. We had a great time and the twins really seemed to enjoy it.  :) While at Top Golf Baby B had the hiccups and I felt them for the first time.  I have watched both girls have them when watching them on the sonogram machine, yet we have never had the chance to feel them from my belly! WE DID! My girlfriends, Lindsey and Kali got to feel them as well. It was such an amazing feeling. Being pregnant has been so much fun! Isn't it amazing how God is creating and building these sweet little girls? I can't wait to meet them!

Mommy and Baby Details:  No bed rest... I am afraid if I say this too loud it will come true! At today's appointment both of the girls looked great. Baby B weighs more then Baby A- yet, this has been the case for the past month, so no new news there. Both of their fluid levels and movements were awesome! I recorded their heart beats on my phone today. It is such a precious sound and I wanted to have it documented incase they arrive early.

Daddy Details: I think he is ready. I won't speak for him... but, he seems prepared.  This past week we went to a Baby 101 course at the hospital, where the girls will be born, and he mastered diaper changing and bathing like a champ! He will be such a great Daddy, I just know it!

I thought I would give you a glimpse of my on GROWING to do list!

*Decorate for Fall- Check! I know... I am a little early but, I wanted this to be done. All of you that know me, know how much I love to decorate! I already told Michael that I would love to get a hay bale and pumpkins as soon as they come out for October!

*Carpet Cleaned- Check!

*Register at the Hospital-Check!:)

*Pick a Pediatrician- Check! The office we were looking into had a meet and greet night. We were able to meet each of the Dr's at the practice and take a tour.

*Make nurse goodie bags for the hospital staff- Check! I did this today! :) I filled clear bags with Hershey's kisses, added a bow and attached a tag that says,"Kisses from Hadley and Layton! Thank you for taking such good care of us."

*Wash and sort newborn clothes- Check! Michael helped me sort the baby socks tonight... oh man!

*Pack hospital bag- almost done! I wanted to have this ready to go nice and early. Just in case they make their arrival a little early.

This week's To Do's!!

Chapter 23- Twin Talk

How Far Along: 33 weeks!! Measuring at 38 weeks (if I had a singleton baby!)

Size of Babies: Baby A is 3lbs 7oz and Baby B is 3lbs 14oz!
What You’re Doing this week: We have a busy week!! Our chair for the nursery came in over the weekend! YAY- Michael will be picking it up tomorrow. :) I will be finishing the nursery and packing our hospital bags! One for me.. and one for the girls! :) My friend Becky is coming over to help paint a little something in the girl's nursery *pictures to come! I have started a womens bible study that takes place each Tuesday night and a MOP's group (Moms of Pre-schoolers-basically birth-preschool mom's).  In the MOP'S Group, we meet every other Wednesday for fellowship, lunch, and a craft. I have LOVED it thus far!  Lastly, we will be hosting our Life Group from our Church at our home this Thursday night for food and fellowship! Busy, busy... but fun! We need to get in as much adult interaction as possible before our lives become BABY, BABY, BABY!

Cravings: Nothing particular! (thankfully, right?? I am guessing this is how pregnant momma's put on weight!)
Sleep: I am sleeping as much as possible :)

New News:  We had a wonderful baby shower last weekend! My Grandma's as well as Michael's were all in attendance! We had 4 Great Grandmas and 2 Grandmas in attendance.  I never knew my Great Grandmas and Hadley and Layton will have 4! The baby shower was everything I could have ever dreamed of and more.  The decorations were PERFECT! They did a "nest" theme.  All of my closest friends and family members were there. These two angels are set!
Names: Layton Aaron and Hadley McKee
Fetal Movement: Baby B made a switch-a-roo in her placement! She used to be breach (feet down), but in the last three weeks she switched and is now head down next to Baby A! Instead of kicking each other in the face, they can now give one another kisses! They move all of the time- especially at night.
Mommy and Baby Details:  All three of us are doing great according to the doctors! Both of the girls have gained weight since their last check up, which is wonderful! Each week we check their movement, breathing, heart rates, and size.  Each time that I arrive I get nervous that they are going to say the....dun dun dun words BED REST. But, as of this past Friday we are showing no signs of this! WAHOO!

Daddy Details: I personally think Michael is ready for the girls to get here so I am not out spending money each day! :) He seems to be ready! He mentioned that he is excited about hunting season to finally be here.... little does he know that he won't be hunting that much.  He's crazy... :)

Chapter 22- Nursery Furniture Sneak Peek

Many of you have been asking for pictures of the nursery.
Here are a few sneak peeks of the furniture. I plan to upload pictures of the nursery as we complete it in the next week or two. Most of the furniture is from Pottery Barn Kids. The girl's chair is from Best Chairs. They are amazing- you should come try it out :)! Enjoy...

Here is a picture of the cribs from Pottery Barn Kids! We chose a cream color instead of white.
This will be the the side table that will sit next to the girl's chair.

We decided on this chair. (Best Chairs (brand)- Hagan)  It was fun to pick out the fabric and color. We went with a solid chocolate brown for the color with a soft comfy stripped fabric) It turns in a complete circle and rocks smoothly back and forth! We can't wait for it to come in.  You'll have to come over and rock one of the twins!

This is the piece of furniture that we are putting in our office! I am on the search for a corner desk for me! :) I can't wait! Our living spaces in the rest of our home are wood floors- therefore, our office (which is carpeted) will be lived in once these girls start to crawl and play.  For those of you that know me best.... I can't wait to decorate all of cubbies in this piece of furniture. Of coarse, many of the baskets will be filled with toys!

It's been a blast decorating and preparing for your arrival. I am enjoying every bit of it!
